Professor Richard Minnitt has taught into the undergraduate and postgraduate programme at the University of the Witwatersrand for the past 23 years, covering topics in geostatistics, mineral economics, sampling theory and practice, grade control and the marketing of mineral products.
He has also undertaken many projects and consulting engineering work. Some of the larger contracts he has undertaken are in the plantinum and gold mining indutsry for Anglo American (Mogalakwena mine) and for Vantage Minerals (Lily mine), as well as many others.
In 2017 he received the Pierre Gy Gold Medal at the WCSB7 in Perth.
